Recycled bicycle

The Boy is a complete bike nut. He's as fanatical about kitting out his ridiculously overpriced (but stylish) bike as I am about baking cupcakes and while I'm lusting over the contents of Olive magazine, he's got his nose in Mountain Bike monthly.

I've found him the perfect gift though. Something that will hopefully inspire in him the same love of Home that I have. A recycled bike wheel clock ...

Love, love, love this. Hope he will too. And even if he doesn't, he's as hopeless as I am at turning up on time so at least it'll prove useful!

The perfect night in

Winter is really setting in now. The mornings and evenings are so dark and it's getting colder and colder. I hate it. But I also love it - buying hats, gloves and scarves, Starbucks hazlenut hot chocolate and cuddling up on the sofa with The Boy under a nice warm quilt.

I grew up around quilts - my mother was always stitching together patchwork pieces and had a treasure chest of fabrics to create new masterpieces with. She made me my own special quilt when I was about 14 - it took her months and months and I still have it on my bed ... a grown up blankie.

After seeing Urban Outfitters new bedding range I'm thinking of investing in a few more though.

Aren't they beautiful? Having one to snuggle under in the living room would make a night in feel like unadultered bliss.

Retro ring

I've decided to try and get my hands on a Bakelite or vintage style telephone and after a little hunt on ebay I've found these cute listings ...

We never use our landline but with a cute telephone like this how could we resist? Fingers crossed I win one of my bids ...

Saturday is the day ...

... that my cute new print goes up in the bathroom.

I'm not what you'd call a morning person and winter mornings make me particularly grumpy so this print will be a daily mini pep talk to myself while I'm brushing my teeth.

Hometime

The working week has finished. Hurray!

This weekend, I’m going home to the country for a belated birthday celebration with my mama and not-so-little-anymore little brothers. My youngest brother and I actually share our birthday, but decided to stretch the celebrations over two weekends for maximum funtimes.

Last weekend my friends treated me to a birthday ‘cake’ made of cheese (yum) and plenty of bubbly.

This weekend it’s all about delicious country food, roaring wood fires in the local pub and copious amounts of red wine with the family.

Have a great weekend! x

Movember mugs

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past few weeks, you’ll know that November is Movember, a month for men to let their facial hair grow proud in support of Prostate Cancer.

The boys at work are doing a good job of getting involved and what better way to show some support of my own than with these adorably kitsch mo’ mugs!

The mugs are designed by Peter Ibruegger and there are three different designs to choose from. What mo will you go for?

Pillow talk

I've gone into pillow purchasing overdrive recently and my latest purchases have just arrived. They're lovingly handmade by Regan of regan's brain on Etsy and I adore them. Check them out below.

Regan was a complete doll too - really friendly and even shipped me my first cushion early as I was so eager to add it to the sofa. If you like these cushions show her some support and splash out on one for your sofa. I'm already itching to buy some more!

Tigers, teacups and unicorns

I love ponies, daydreaming and tea time. I also can't start the day without my ritual morning coffee so I am constantly collecting pretty mugs to start the day with.

These magical tea time treats from Habitat would rock my morning caffeine kicks and afternoon teas
